So, I have been very quiet over the last few months. Where have I been? What have I been doing?

In addition to providing my normal client-focussed translation services, I’ve been completing my 2nd MA Translation Studies module: Computer-Assisted Translation, the range of translation technology available to professionals and the public (watch this space for future blogs). Not only have I been beavering away at my studies, I have also created a canoeing and kayaking specialist terminology database. As a passionate paddler it is surprising just how much specialist terminology there is associated with paddlesports, as much as with medical, legal, or financial translation. Therefore, it is important for paddlesports-related documents to be translated by those who have that same love and understanding of the sport as the original author.

So where next for Avellana Translations? More translating for my lovely clients, more researching, developing, progressing, and maybe a few blogs 😉

Sending love and blessings to all those with exams and assignments of any level right now. You’ve got this 👍
